When updates are issued, they typically hit unlocked models first and then at some point, make their way to carrier-branded devices a little later. The Essential Phone was offered on Sprint in the United States and on Telus in Canada. If you are curious whether the update is now available on your device, be sure to head into the settings , system menu, system update, then check for the update.
