Tibco recruits Ries for regional role

Integration, API management and analytics vendor Tibco Software has appointed Melissa Ries as as its general manager of Asia Pacific and Japan.

"Melissa's rich experience within the data analytics industry as well as her solid, proven results and experience with various organisations make her uniquely qualified to drive our business in APJ," said executive vice-president for global sales Steve Hurn.

"As the Asia Pacific and Japan region experiences unprecedented growth, particularly in data analytics, Melissa's success in helping organisations unlock their full value will undoubtedly enhance our position in this market."

Ries has over 25 years of experience in the software industry, most recently as general manager for APJ at elearning provider Skillsoft.

She previously served as APJ general manager and vice-president at Pivotal, APAC general manager of EMC's Greenplum division, regional roles at SAP Business Objects, and senior director of SSA Global (acquired by Infor).

Ries holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland.
