Even if you don’t have a fitness band or a smartwatch, having the S Health app on your Samsung device is pretty helpful, especially if you’re trying to monitor things like your steps, weight, calories burned, etc. The latest version of the app brings you some minor updates by letting you save your Steps challenges on your Samsung account, letting you cheer on your friends with messages and bringing you enhanced security settings. It has already rolled out so if you’re an S Health user, go ahead and update it.

The Steps challenge was created not just to feed the competitive beast in you but to challenge you to reach your step goal by letting you compete against friends or even strangers if that’s your thing. With this new update, every time you set a record, you will now be able to record or save it on your account, for posterity’s sake or if you want to challenge yourself even more.

If you feel like encouraging a friend who’s in the middle of a difficult fitness program, you can now send them messages through the S Health app, when your other messaging apps aren’t cutting it for you. And if you don’t like strangers challenging you to a Steps showdown, you will now be able to block those “unwanted” people. Security is also now enhanced since it’s Samsung Knox enabled.

The update also brings improvements in the design and user experience. Plus, you have the usual bug fixes and improvements. You can update your app by going to its Google Play page.
